IES Antoni Llidó students get to know European heritage thanks to an Erasmus project

27 December 2021 - 10: 59

Education in a European key. The Antoni Llidó de Xàbia institute continues with its participation in Erasmus projects, which allow its students to understand global problems such as climate change or have a broad perspective of Mediterranean and European cultural heritage.

The educational center is part of the Erasmus + "We love cultural european heritage". Three of his teachers (Yolanda Vicedo, María Faus and Álvaro Herrero) have traveled to Marsala, in Sicily, to participate in the "Welcome to Marsala, Welcome to Europe" conference. This program makes European cultural heritage known to students.

During those days, the Italian public institute Pascasino hosted the preliminary meetings of this project in which the dates and specific activities of the meetings with students that will take place throughout this year and the next were addressed. The Xàbia participants lived and worked with teachers from the rest of the participating countries, which are Greece, Italy, Poland and France.

The teachers also visited the historic center of Marsala, its archaeological museum and its Punic ships, as well as the city of Palermo. The cultural and landscape similarities between Sicily and the Marina Alta region are evident.

By learning about European heritage, students will discover that culture and art are languages that help to strengthen ties.
