The stormy 'Gloria' has affected all of Spain and our region, Dénia and Xàbia being the two populations with the greatest damage. Numerous have been the destruction in the promenades, commercial premises and homes, in addition to suffering power outages and falls of trees and branches that prevented the passage in several ways.

As for the Gorgos River, attention has been maximum as it passes through Xàbia. After overflowing in the town of Xaló, it also did so at two points in our town, which produced evictions and cuts of adjacent roads, without having to regret further damage.

Without a doubt, the protagonists of this storm have been the sea and the wind. The strength of both has been the trigger for the great destruction. In Xàbia, the waves came to exceed 8 meters in height, thus skipping the sand containment dam that had been built since the Town hall, causing the dragging of urban furniture, children's games, etc. By the sea, the wind. Its gusts of 100 km/h on average have also caused damage to road signs, billboards, falling motorcycles, as well as dragging dozens of containers and litter bins, flower pots, among other objects.

About the rain, which has been present since the beginning of the storm, last Sunday, has left a total of 87 liters / m2 during the day on Monday and, for the moment, today Tuesday, carries 14 liters, according to data provided by Meteoxàbia .

For tomorrow Wednesday, the weather situation is stable in the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency. Only the yellow alert for maritime storm will be active. As on each occasion, after the storm, comes calm.
