Last Thursday, January 30, it was celebrated, in the Xàbia school centers, the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace, coined in 1964 by the poet and pedagogue Lorenzo Vidal, to commemorate the death of pacifist Mahatma Gandhi, on January 30, 1948. Gandhi began the non-violent resistance movement, with demonstrations and hunger strikes, which would lead to the independence of India of the British Empire, in 1947.
Given this fact, the schools carried out different non-comxicotetive and cooperative activities to commemorate Peace Day.
