Lions Club has appointed Miguel Ángel García, mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, honorary member of the Association. The mayor attended the first meeting yesterday as an honorary member. Garcia thanked the president of the association, Nico Dekkers, as well as the board of directors for this distinction.
"It is an honor to have the opportunity to meet with women and men whose most important ambition is to watch, as guardian angels, for the most vulnerable people in our municipality. They are men and women with the brave face of the revolution, men and women who fight for justice and solidarity. They are an example to follow. A pride. Their energy, passion and dedication is always an inspiration ", said the munícipe.
This nomination as an Honorary Member links the mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell with one of the most important solidarity groups in the region at an international level. An association that has been altruistically collaborating with the municipality for seven years, working closely with the Department of Servicios Sociales, always aware of the needs of the most vulnerable people. Among the achievements of this association, it is worth highlighting the collaboration in the free textbooks, food vouchers for the most disadvantaged families, active participation in Christmas campaigns, provision of the latest technology to Civil Protection and Local Police in patient resuscitation, key to saving lives.
The first town councilor referred to the members of the collective: "You are essential, a key piece in our municipality and from the Town hall We place ourselves at your disposal in everything in our power to help you continue helping".
