The works of the TRAM of the Marina Alta will be approved in the Consell for 18 million euros

The Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi Spain, in his visit to the El Campello workshops of the TRAM d'Alacant to know the benefits of the new dual trains has announced that the full Consell will approve the Teulada section- Cat of the 9 Line of the TRAM d'Alacant (Benidorm-Dénia) for 18 million euros.

Likewise, the holder of Mobility has qualified the new units of the TRAM d'Alacant of pioneer and innovative trains and has announced that "they will be able to circulate on Line 1 (Luceros-Benidorm) and Line 3 (Luceros-El Campello) and, in the future, as planned, in the rest of the connection between Alicante and Dénia, once the works of modernization that is being carried out between Calpe and Dénia. In this way, they will continue until Denia without the current transfer in Benidorm ".

Specifically, on the 9 Line of the TRAM d'Alacant, Arcadi Spain has commented that the Teulada-Gata de Gorgos section, of 6,7 kilometers, for an amount of 18.031.126,08 euros, and a term for its execution of 12 months will be tendered. This section together with the one of Gata de Gorgos-Dénia, of 10,9 kilometers that is already in tender, are those that are missing to complete the renewal of the route of the whole of this line.

In this sense, the Minister has indicated that the Generalitat is executing different actions of this 9 Line that links Benidorm and Dénia, in order to achieve its renewal and integral modernization guaranteeing the regularity and quality of the service.

In total, the Generalitat's investment in the 9 Line of the TRAM d'Alacant will amount to more than 130 million euros and includes, among others, the renewal of the Calp to Teulada road, monitoring of the Quisi Viaduct, the Variant on the Quisi ravine, the renovation of the Teulada to Dénia road, the remodeling of platforms and accessibility improvement and the Algar and Mascarat rehabilitation.

Among these improvements is the incorporation of the new dual trains that the Generalitat, through FGV, awarded to Stadler Rail Valencia for 43.320.000 euros, the manufacture of six dual-propulsion trains for the TRAM d'Alacant, mainly for the 9 Line (Benidorm-Dénia), which is currently carried out with diesel trains that have more than 50 years in operation, because they are inherited from Feve when FGV was created.

The authorization for the commissioning of the units will be carried out by the Valencian Security Agency. Meanwhile, train drivers continue to learn about the singularities of the dual units.
