The mountain section of the Llebeig de Xàbia Athletics Club, Mountain Llebeig, finalizes the preparations for the first mountain Half Marathon that will run through the forest area of La granadella. The "Granadella Trail" will deputize on Sunday 17 February, before the flood of registrations, which has exceeded all expectations, from the club warn that they will close the quota this week.
And it is already more than 500 the riders who will participate in the half marathon, in addition to some 270 more that will be added to the march for walkers that will cover a route also for the area of 12'9 kilometers.
The president of Llebeig, Juan Zaragozí, explained "Last year the race had 15 kilometers per Granadella. We thought about increasing the distance to 21, but we had some fear that the distance and the harshness would cause the registration to drop. Fortunately it has been the opposite. "
Zaragozí, added "Part of the success is attributed to the promotional video that a group of brokers posted on social networks and on the Somesport website." This promo, which shows the spectacular nature of the forest environment through which the race runs, has obtained some 2.600 visits.
The Granadella Trail will have its exit to the 9'30 hours from the Pinosol park and will run along a path under pines, then forest tracks and ravines with technical points such as the descent of gurugú or the Teuleries ascent until you reach the Llevant viewpoint, go down to the Castell Granadella and the beach before returning to Pinosol.
In total it is estimated a positive height difference of 920 meters and accumulated of 1830 meters, in addition to some very technical sections. Along the route there will be three refreshments, two of them solid, and at the end of the race a picaeta.
There will be a technical shirt for all participants and trophies for the first three men and women in the youth, senior, veteran and local categories, as well as a cup for the club with the most participants.
