The Moors and Christians celebrations 2020 already have their flags: Lucía Llidó and Carla Llídó

February 05 from 2020 - 11: 40

Lucía Llidó Vallés and Carla Llidó Bertolín will be the Mora and Cristiana flag bearers of the Moors and Christians festivities de Xàbia 2020. This has been officially announced by the Junta de Festes de Moros i Cristians de Xàbia. The two young women thus become the representative face of the party, whose reign will begin next Saturday, February 15 with their Proclamation framed within the acts of the Mig Any Fester.

Lucía Llidó, Abanderada Mora 2020, belongs to the filà Xibia from the moment of its creation since its mother is one of the founders of the only filà made up entirely of women. The Moors and Christians festival runs through his veins and, from always, he has wanted to represent the side of the crescent. Luck is on his side because, although this year it was not up to his filà to hold office, the solidarity between festeros has led to the final responsibility of Xibia to designate the maximum head of the Moorish troops and that the honor falls on her.

For her part, Carla Llidó, Christian Flag Bearer 2020, belongs to the Pirates of Sant Jaume filà. Like her partner, she joined the party when she was one year old, and although she took her first steps together with the Xibia filà within the Moorish side, for eight years; He is a member of his current filà on the Christian side with his family.

The two know the party by heart, enjoy the Gala Parades and the harmony that exists between partiers. But, beyond the festive scope, Lucia aspires to become a criminologist, although she is aware of how complicated the career is. In the case of Carla, tomorrow he would like to devote himself to teaching and specifically painting and plastic arts.

Illusioned by the charge

Lucia and Carla are nail and meat. They are family and a great friendship joins them. That is perceived in how excited and happy they are to assume a position they consider "All a responsibility" and that they confess, they have “Admired forever”. None expected to be such a young bearer, but they believe that this feeling of pride for the position is shared with any woman who belongs to the party and that, with the support of their ranks and the Board of Festivities, will live up to what It is expected of them.

Both admit to being "Nervous to do my best, that everything goes well and each and every party is proud". They are also happy with the moment the party is going through and the importance that it enjoys, today, the position they are about to assume. “We have been with a large Flag for a few years and that shows in its impact. Before, perhaps, they were not given the prominence or importance they deserved, but that is changing and helps us to make our party bigger ”, they count.

That special veneration for the position professed by the younger generations of the party means that, more and more, they look at who are the top representatives. Both Lucia and Carla have always wondered how it should be to live certain acts of the party from the perspective of a Flag Bearer.

Specifically, they refer to the acts of the Moorish Landing and the Christian Reconquest where the Flaggers enjoy a special role leading their respective sides during the theatricalization of the battle.

That, together with the aura that the spectacular makeup and costumes that always look and the position occupied by the representatives at the head of the party; usually attracts the attention of the general public and, now, Lucia and Carla can live it in the first person.
