The May crosses fill the streets of Xàbia with color

One more year, and with total normality, after the three-year break, the significant May crosses of the festivities in honor of Jesús Nazareno have returned to the streets of Xàbia. The color of the flowers and the originality of its elaboration have surprised those who have visited them.

A total of 15 crosses fill the streets of historic Xàbia and Duanes de la Mar with life, in addition to those installed in the windows of different shops.

Among the symbolism of each one of them, the one exposed in the Javea Town Hall which is dedicated to Ukraine. The floral elaboration sends a message for Peace and shows its solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag are reflected in the color of flowers. In addition, a dove has been braided into the tapestry with an olive branch and the whole set is surrounded by the typical clay tiles of local architecture, forming the symbol of peace.

As is tradition, the Brotherhood of the Nazarene, together with authorities and neighbors, carried out a parade to visit crosses through the historic center yesterday afternoon. Music, pyrotechnics and joy once again reigned in this special event.

The floral works, carried out by entities and mayorales, will be exposed until Tuesday, May 3 included. For those who still want to visit the crosses, their location is as follows:
