The schools of Xàbia recover this course the offer of extracurricular activities to give option to the students who extend their hours at the center in the afternoons. Among the options that the centers themselves have prepared, the Education and Sports councils, in collaboration with the grassroots sport, the centers, the teachers and the sports clubs and entities of the municipality, have proposed a wide offer to bring the little ones closer together sports practice and the acquisition of healthy habits.
The Department of Sports and Education offer free extracurricular activities in the schools of Xàbiacouncilman Alberto Tur has explained that, after the stoppage due to the pandemic, the free program "Xàbia Esports-Educa" is recovered in the five public schools. Aimed at boys and girls who attend kindergarten and primary school, it is organized in two different lines by age. The first, called 'Muévete' is designed for the youngest (between 3 and 5 years old) and will work on the basic motor and social aspects; the second 'Discover sport' is focused on the entire primary cycle and will cover different sports modalities at the initiation level as well as their basic aspects and values.
Participating in the initiative are the clubs of Handball, Montgo Rítmica, Escacs, Lluita Dimonis, Atletisme Llebeig, Muay Thai, Rhythmic Gymnastics Xàbia, Pilota, Fútbol La Marina, Basketball, CD Jávea, Tennis Taula and Judo Dojo Do Jávea.
The activities will take place from October 18 to May 27 in a schedule compatible with the continuous day as an extracurricular, will take place within school hours, from 15.30 to 17.00. Registration, free of charge, is managed by each educational center.
In addition, Tur points out, as a novelty, specific conferences will be included in schools on healthy habits and nutrition, as well as sustainability and recycling.
Other extracurricular activities offered by the Department of Education are workshops to make a school publication and storytelling.
