The Xabiera It is the name chosen for the new project of Xàbia Històrica and Xàbia Port. The two most important associations of merchants and service companies in the town launch a marketplace local so that you can sell local commerce online.
The project starts with almost twenty shops of all kinds (fashion, shoes, electrical appliances, dietetics and nutrition ...) to which more will be added over the next few days. The shops that are present have chosen the items that they have put up for sale online with special prices for the promotion. For shipping, three modalities have been activated: to the entire peninsula, express to all Xàbia and to pick up at the Xàbia Històrica office.
According to the presidents of Xàbia Històrica, Raúl Caselles, and Xàbia Port, Cande Ros, "The objective of launching La Xabiera is to bring traditional commerce closer to the new consumer". For them “It is essential to have an active tool of this type because, in addition to the fact that online shopping is already very common, we have seen that during confinement this habit has increased. Having La Xabiera will be a way of always being able to continue selling and in particular if we suffer another pandemic closure again ”.
In addition to the online store itself, La Xabiera will also be active on social networks Facebook and Instagram and emailings will be sent so that users know about offers and promotions.
Transformation of local to digital commerce
The launch of La Xabiera marketplace It is part of a process of digital transformation of local commerce promoted by Xàbia Històrica and Xàbia Port and which started in 2019. In the first phase, businesses attended a course on how to transform small commerce towards online sales.
The second phase consisted of advising stores to improve the management of their social networks, sending commercial emails, optimization of Google positioning, improvements on the websites ...
And the third phase has been the launch of a platform -La Xabiera- so that stores and companies can sell their products or services online.
