Xàbia: from l'espai natural to terme urbanitzat. That is the title of the photographic exhibition hosted by the Cirne Foundation in its Alicante Avenue facilities. 50 years of urban history of Xàbia. Some changes, for some better for other abusers, but without doubt, a different Xàbia.
"With this exhibition, tourism and the residents of Xàbia are offered a different way to get to know Xàbia", said Enric Martinez, president of the Cirne Foundation and added that with these 11 panels, "We do not criticize urbanism, but call attention to what has happened since the 60s."
The exhibition, which can be visited during the whole month of August and September at 18 time: 00 to 21: 00 hours from Monday to Friday, and is extended to schools from the September 10, consists of 11 snapshots of the years of the postwar period (three of the urban nucleus of the town, three of the port, three of the arenal and two of the zone of the Montañar), next to the same image in current time.
In a single glance you can see how the town of Xàbia has evolved and has been transformed, urbanistically. An agricultural municipality where you can see a virgin, unpopulated and without buildings. A landscape, which for many makes them feel nostalgic.
