One more week, the athletic appointment of the region arrives. The Volta a Peu of the Marina Alta will pass through the town of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. This route, of 9,2 km away, is considered one of the most demanding of the Circuit and is known as 'The Navy Tourmalet'.

The athletes will travel through the narrow streets of the urban core of the town and will pass through the agricultural area. This Volta a Peu will arrive this Saturday to its fourth edition, in which 1.200 athletes are expected between adults and children.

The test has been presented by the president of the Club Multiesport Benitatxell, Juan Zaragozí, and the municipal sports coordinator, Víctor Abia. Children's races will begin at 16 hours and at 18: 30 hours will be given the exit to the adult test.

Zaragozí recalled that since the first edition, the organizers have put a lot of effort into strengthening health care. Two SAMU medical teams with two ambulances will ensure the safety of the runners.

Among the characteristics of the race, the course consists of a continuous rise and fall. But from El Poble Nou de Benitatxell a great atmosphere has been prepared to encourage the runners.

The president of Multiesport Benitatxell has admitted that they have debated the possibility of changing the route and smoothing it. "But we have come to the conclusion that we should keep it. It is hard, we will not deny it. We are
known as The Tourmalet of the Circuit de la Marina. But it goes through a rural landscape of great beauty and for runners it is also a challenge to face this leg-breaker test. Other towns design flat and fast tours to break participation records. Our test is different and has great appeal "
