15 March 2023 - 10: 07

The Dénia Health Department has launched Telephysiotherapy also in Primary Care. The program, implemented two years ago from the Physiotherapy Service of the Dénia Hospital, has just been presented to the Family and Community Medicine physicians of the Dénia II Integrated Health Center and will gradually be extended to the rest of the physicians of centers health of the region.

Telephysiotherapy is especially indicated in patients with joint and muscle pain, which can become chronic, such as low back pain, neck pain or knee pain, among other pathologies.

The patient receives a personalized exercise work plan in person to perform online, at home, under the supervision of a physiotherapist. The professional, through the ReHub tool, monitors online and periodically, the physical state, the degree of compliance and progress. The platform that hosts the software has more than 700 videos for each type of treatment.

At the moment, more than two hundred patients in the Marina Alta have already benefited from Telephysiotherapy; a tool that allows therapeutic exercise to be carried out remotely, under telematic monitoring by the physiotherapist.

In addition to implementing it in Primary Care, the Physiotherapy Service is studying the possibility of prolonging the patient's discharge from the platform, so that the exercise lasts over time and also introducing combined therapies between the hospital and home for patients with other profiles, such as post-surgical shoulder or knee.

The users of the tool have valued it with a degree of satisfaction greater than 85%, and a degree of adherence similar to face-to-face physiotherapy.
