The rowing section of the Club Nautico de Javea It has launched a solidarity initiative that will make it possible to provide healthcare personnel with special gowns made of nautical canvas to complement the daily fight against the coronavirus.
The person in charge of the idea has been the rowing coach, Valentina García, who during these days of confinement in her home, thought about how she could help all the health personnel who are in hospitals and health centers.
Some of them are, in fact, part of the Rowing School of the Yacht Club and went out to train every week. For this reason, before the news that appears daily in the media, he thought that he could provide them with robes made of nautical PVC canvas that can be placed on top of their protective equipment and that "They can be washed with water and bleach and it is not necessary to throw them away when using them once".
At home, with her sewing machine, Tenin, as everyone knows her, has gotten to work and has been able to make 25 robes that she has already given to the team members who will send them to the hospital.
For the design of these robes, Tenin had the help of Susana and Luz, two of the team members, who made various contributions to apply them to the patterns. As she explained, as a coach "I know that students must be cared for" and now that "We are all at home and my students, and the rest of the toilets, are at the front. We have to give them our full support and provide them, as much as possible, with more protection material to attend to all patients.".
Tenin stressed that the Rowing family of Club Nautico de Javea It is more united than ever and despite the fact that they cannot go out to practice the sport in the bay of Xàbia, each of them is contributing their grain of sand so that this emergency situation passes as soon as possible.
