A little over a month ago, the temporary Gloria passed through Xàbia, destroying everything in its path. Numerous destruction on the beaches of the municipality as well as shops and walking areas. Gloria took ahead walls, street furniture, windows and a long etcetera.
From the first day, Xàbia went to work to return to normal, as soon as possible. Hard work but not impossible.
Now, a month later, part of that damage has been erased. The Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, was from day one, checking each of the affected areas. During these days, after the start-up of the emergency works, he has verified that in the Port of Xàbia, the wall of the La Grava beach It has already been 100% repaired and a few weeks ago a solution was given to the state of the Paseo de Marina Española.
Now, as announced by the first mayor through social networks, the work continues in the walk of Caleta o Cala Blanca where the storm destroyed a large part of urban elements (bins, banks, signs ...).
With respect to Arenal BeachAlthough the mayor affirmed in plenary session that he would not be there for Easter, work continues on the removal of algae and replacement of sand, pending the administrative process regarding the repair of walls.
Other works in progress
On the other hand, two important works are being carried out in the area of Duanes de la Mar: the reconstruction of the Triana Bridge, which at the moment the demolition work and the remodeling of the sidewalks of the Avenue have been carried out dels Furs, in which you can already see part of the new cobblestone and lighting.
