This year 2019 is celebrating the eleventh edition of the Cursa de la Dona. A solidarity event that will take place next March 10 and that takes place, jointly, through the Department of Sports and Equality and Club Llebeig Xàbia.
The mayor of Sports, Vicent Colomer, thanked the efforts of the Llebeig Athletics Club, especially the
women who are in charge of the organization of this solidarity event. This year, the collection will go to the Asociación Autismo Jávea and to the County Association Amunt against cancer.
For her part, the councilor for equality, Montse VillaverdeHe stressed that this is an event already consolidated in
Xàbia. «An event that unites sport, the figure of women and the solidarity side. I also thank the women of Llebeig who make it possible for this course to continue year after year »said the mayor.
Villaverde invited all the women of Xàbia to participate in the non-competitive course «To enjoy the municipality and do solidarity work».
Madelane Powell, on behalf of the women of Llebeig, explained the details of the course and the purposes from the organization. For this 2019 we want to try to reach the 1000 participants, 200 more than in 2018, since there was a total of 800 entries.
On the march or charity race, the start will be at the 10 in the morning from the Graüll school athletics track. Before the start there will be a warm up and after the course they will finish with a Zumba class. The organization will have a physiotherapist and with the number of the dorsal will make a raffle with several lots donated by collaborating shops.
Registration, which costs 5 euros, can be made from the 1 of February on the somesport website. The maximum deadline to sign up is until March's 7. In addition, Club Llebeig facilitates registration so that it can be done in person at the Graüll track every Wednesday from 17: 30 to 19: 30 hours.
With the registration, the participants will get a promotional t-shirt of the event, which this year will be dark blue. And as every year, a gift will be granted to the youngest person registered and to the oldest, as well as to the first three to enter the goal and the three largest of 50 years.
In 2018, the youngest registered was Aitana Fornés, of 15 months and the oldest, a lady, neighbor of Xàbia, of 83 years, her daughter pushed the wheelchair during the whole journey, which consists of five kilometers.
La Cursa de la Dona will collaborate with recycling by installing plastic containers on the athletic track for the disposal of the containers.
