Parties Moros i Cristians Xàbia 2019 last night they kicked off with the celebration of their first act, the presentation of costumes and the nomination of flag-bearers and new captain that this year falls to the Filà Almoradins.

The Moors and Christian marches began to fill the sailor neighborhood with music. Also, the color of each of the costumes that each of the filaes will wear in the Gala Parade that will take place during the last two days of the 20 and 21 festivities in July at night.

The mora and Christian flagship of 2019, Lorena Ros and Laura Torres, were responsible for carrying out the traditional firing of the announcing rocket and the official lighting of the ornamental lights that will wear the area of ​​Duanes during these holidays.

The central act of the night also had the exchange of powers between the captains of 2018, Fernando and Virginia, of the Filà Trabuquers giving the witness to Emilio Bañuls, captain of 2019.

The Xàbia paralympic sailor, Rafa Andarias, was the preacher of this edition of the festivities. Andarias pointed out his experience, from childhood, of this celebration, "I remember that what most caught my attention was the landing and of course, the outfits of each of the party people in the middle of July." Rafa encouraged all the people and visitors to enjoy the party and appreciated the fact that he was offered to be in charge of giving the inaugural speech.

After learning about the costumes, the San Jaime Awards took place, some recognitions that are already celebrating their sixth edition and that were awarded to José Andrés González, founder of these Moors and Christians festivities creating the first row, Jalufos, in 1978 with a group of friends. And the third award went to Vicent Montaner, who at just 14 years old, in 1986, founded the Filà Almoriscos.

In the parliaments, the president of the Central Board, Rubén Femenía, pointed out the great work and effort of the members of the filaes and stressed that "Although I was born and raised in Ondara, I took Xàbia in my heart for what I bet on these holidays."

The events of the festive program continues today with the multi-adventure playground on Manuel Bordes Valls street (next to the Palau Municipal d'Esports), from 10 hours and in the afternoon, at 20: 30 hours, it will take place , in Seville street, the XVII Concert of Music Festera, that in this occasion will be in charge of the Music-Municipal Association Santa María Magdalena of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.
