The National Police intervenes more than 2.000 counterfeit goods in the Dénia street market

The National Police has arrested 22 people and has intervened a total of 2.106 counterfeit items in an operation against the counterfeiting of items carried out in the Dénia flea market.

After carrying out several periodic inspections during the last weeks, the agents were able to check with legal representatives of the affected brands, as in that place they were actually for sale counterfeit products.

Many of the objects that were exposed to sale to the public had low quality in the product, both in the materials and sewing used in them, and in the logos of the brand. In the same way, the researchers verified how many of them did not carry the required labels of the aforementioned firms, lacking the symbols of registered products and the purchase invoice of the companies authorized to sell them.

The arrests of the accused, of Senegalese and Moroccan origin, took place between January 14 and 15.

As a result of the searches carried out, investigators intervened a total of 2.106 articles allegedly falsified, among which products such as caps, handbags, phone cases, lingerie, handbags, handkerchiefs, shoes, watches, key rings, belts stand out. , sweatshirts, trousers and even 92 logos representative of luxury brands as well as special adhesive to stick them on the objects intervened.

The Brigades of Judicial Police and Citizen Security of the Dénia Police Station and the Unit Assigned to the Valencian Community of Alicante have participated in the operation.
