Around 25 agents of the Local Police of Xàbia were vindicated in the plenary session, held Monday, for salary improvements. With a vindictive green shirt that said, Xàbia Local Police Dignificació, the police collective distributed a letter in which they announced that from the presence in the plenary, "A series of protests are going to begin that will increase until the mayor gives the appropriate orders so that from Human Resources and Municipal Intervention there are no more obstacles" and explained that in 2010 "Xàbia had almost 100 agents and nowadays they barely exceed 50".
The brief continues by saying that "Xàbia is the second most important population in the Marina Alta and is at an abyss from the working conditions of Dénia and compared to the rest of the workforce, Xàbia is the one that charges the least from the private agent to the mayor."
The Local Police document states: "The reasons have been several, but the main one is due to the lack of political forecasts, also due to the precariousness of a unstructured workforce in which there is no horizontal career and the vertical is practically nil, nor economic incentives to make this workforce a professional goal, makes qualified professionals choose other destinations. "
The agents' brief mentions that "The Local Police is constantly recognized in the media as a professional police and citizen service, recognizing that it is not compensated economically, despite the incorporation of new functions due to the legal imperative they already have and these they are not reflected in your payroll. "
The councilwoman responds
For her part, the Councilor for Security, Pepa Gisbert, who wore a green tie like the five mayor of the PP, in solidarity with the local police, expressed concern about the situation, "And I am upset at the same time because we have done everything that has been in our hands: A new dependency, improvements in material and new vehicles, as well as joining the call for public employment offers of 2018 in which four positions for agents and five officers, in addition to the consolidation of 15 interim agents, but this offer was not accepted by the Government Sub-delegation and the Town hall has modified it to consolidate the 15 interim agents. Likewise, the councilwoman concluded by saying that the City Council will promote the elaboration of the List of Jobs (RPT) to assess what each agent must charge.
