The Local Police of Xàbia was one of the police forces honored in the Great Gala of the Solidarity Shields which was held this weekend at the Vichy Catalán spa in Caldes de Malavella. The event served to thank the 50 people who have been most involved in this campaign against childhood cancer and celebrate the 500.000 euros raised for research and family support.
In Xàbia, they have been the agents Mariano Armero, Rosa Ramos and Vicen Buigues, as well as the mayor José Antonio Monfort those who received the 'Creu d'Honor Pels Valents' in recognition of his altruistic work and his promotion of this campaign that will serve to make the Pediatric Cancer Center a reality at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, which will be the largest Children's Oncology Hospital in Europe. From the Xàbia police force they have managed to raise 7.000 euros.
The solidarity shields is a campaign promoted in 2017 by the Local Police of Caldes de Malavella, Sant Celoni and Hostalric that little by little has been extended to the entire country. In Xàbia it has been active since 2019 and many businesses and associations have contributed to the sale of solidarity shields, which can also be found at the police checkpoint.
