The bullfighting arena on Avenida Palmela in Xàbia was filled with aromas, laughter, and celebration last night with the traditional Paella Competition, hosted by groups of clubs and groups of friends. More than 30 clubs participated in this event, although some did not enter the competition.
As every year, the Fogueres Festival Commission provided rice for all participants. After deliberation by the jury, made up of festival officials and commission members, the prize of 100 euros was awarded to the "Agarra't que anem" group, whose paella was impressive both for its flavor and presentation. The winners were thrilled.
The day continued with the Kasparov group from Castelló, which gave a performance that had everyone in attendance dancing.
