Benitatxell's opposition accuses the government team of acting "illegally"

January 21 from 2019 - 15: 59

The members of the PP, Pideb and RED of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, led by their RED spokesperson Josep Femenia have requested explanations for the multitude of actions, many of them suspicious, to respond to clientelism and be outside the law. For this, they have requested an extraordinary plenary session for which the mayor must give explanations of the hirings made in the 100 days of government.

Femenia has explained to the media the lack of transparency of the current governing board: "They demanded transparency and now it turns out that they are working behind the back of the Plenary and has denied written access to information on their actions. They have not only proposed measures that they denied being in opposition, but now they also act in a sectarian and opaque way , typical of a government formed by prosecuted, transferable and expedited. "

Josep has pointed out that the most worrisome action of all is "to process a null act of full right as is that of a property on Les Capelletes street, since the legal procedure for the acquisition of goods has been completely dispensed with and that, in an important way, commits the public capital of the town". Remember that when Josep Femenia was mayor, he bought the house adjacent to the Town hall, "Now they decide to buy an unfinished building on the outskirts of the town, relocating the neighbors and moving the administration away from the center and shops", point out from the opposition and indicate that "Every time the citizens go to the City Council they will have to walk to the outskirts to consult a technician instead of using the adjacent building, the only 'defect' it has is that the previous administration started it."

From the government team

For its part, the government team defends that the acquisition of the new municipal building has been made following all legal channels and is endorsed by the technicians, "Even a consultation was made to the legal services of the Diputación de Alicante, which gave its approval to the operation. In addition, the City Council had credit. A sale of municipal parcels provided the patrimonial income with which the purchase has been undertaken for 228.000 euros of a property of almost 800 square meters that was valued at 458.000 euros ", have explained from the consistory.

Also, the mayor of the Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Miguel Ángel García said that "The accusation of illegality in the acquisition of the purchase is serious as it is an administrative procedure. They are signaling the municipal technicians who have developed the file. The municipal technicians verified that the property was free of charges. The usual and legal procedure has been followed and the local government has not departed
millimeter".

The mayor, Miguel Ángel García, regretted that the opposition tried "intimidate and contaminate" throwing "unfounded suspicions of illegality" about the purchase of the building. It has influenced that the opposition can consult the file and make sure that “The same procedure used by the previous mayor, Josep Femenia, has been followed in the acquisitions of the house that is attached to the Town Hall or in the houses of the Plaça de l'Església” according to the municipal technicians themselves, they have transferred him to the mayor.

The mayor has stressed that it is "legitimate" although "ridiculous" that the opposition defends a model of people that is far from what is driving the current local government. "It is nonsense that they say that the building we have bought is on the outskirts when it is only 270 meters away and a minute walk from the current town hall. We have insisted that the acquisition of the Capelletes street building and the entrance to our municipality It will allow grouping services and offices that are now dispersed. The house next to the City Council is not sufficient or does not replace the long-term deficiencies.Only as a reminder, the house annexed to the City Hall, of 213 m2, cost 105.000, or what is the same, 492 euros were paid per square meter of a plot,
since the house must collapse, while the structure that we have just acquired is in perfect condition and has cost 285 euros per square meter. It's not about patching, but thinking about
big and in future "
, the mayor explained.

Garcia has insisted that the attention to the citizen, the registry and the mayor's office will continue in the current consistorial building.
