The Marina Alta registers 6 positive cases of coronavirus

The Marina Salud Hospital has confirmed the number of positive cases that have been registered in the Dénia Health Department, a number that amounts to 6; a reduced figure that places the Health department in the green phase within the Contingency Plan launched in the face of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The Contingency Plan is structured in 4 scenarios (Green, Yellow, Orange and Red), with specific measures for each phase, based on the guidelines established by the Ministry of Health of the Government of Spain, of the Department of Universal Health and Public Health of the Valencian Government and the available scientific evidence.

After the existence of the first case last Friday, from the Hospital indicate that the population is following the recommendations of the authorities regarding home confinement and in the region we are in a slight situation. The use of Hospital and Primary Care Emergencies is being adequate and it is important to avoid attending health centers except in cases of justified need.

At the moment, as of March 16, the number of active cases rises to 490 in the Valencian Community. The counselor explained that, so far, 13 people have died, 12 people have already been discharged and a total of 3.696 tests have been carried out with a negative result.

They also remember the importance of carrying out the Self test authorized by the Conselleria de Sanitat Universal i Salut Pública, before traveling to healthcare centers related to the suspicion of illness due to COVID19.

Measures taken at the Dénia Hospital

According to the statement by Marina Salud, the Dénia Health Department –DSD- has launched its Contingency Plan against the coronavirus on Monday. The plan contemplates various healthcare scenarios and a series of measures aimed at reinforcing the services and the safety of patients and professionals. Likewise, coordination mechanisms have been initiated with the health authorities and other Health Departments, to work as a team with the entire public health system and guarantee the effectiveness of the measures adopted.

Non-preferential scheduled attention has also been suspended and is going to be replaced by telephone attention where possible. The Hospital will contact all those affected by this measure, and if they have not contacted you, you should go to the consultation.

For minimize concurrency in scheduled care that must be maintained (Obstetrics, Onco-Hematological Day Hospital, etc.), we are taking measures that will be duly informed upon arrival at the care centers.

Visits are prohibited and it is recommended to remain in the consultation and waiting rooms without an escort. In urgent care, a circuit has been distinguished for the care of patients with suspected COVID disease19. This measure, with the support of all, will help to provide a more agile and safe attention.

In addition, a Home Monitoring Program through which the evolution of patients will be monitored by telephone, if necessary. Hospital areas have been conditioned and enabled to allow the expansion of healthcare spaces if necessary.

In the face of this pandemic, the Dénia Hospital cancels all scheduled external consultations. The medical teams will be in contact with patients to make consultations, as far as possible, telematically.
