The I Fira de les Coques de Xàbia promotes the “slow life” movement and the javienses traditions

A place with history: the riu rau d'Arnauda; a traditional way of cooking: in the moruno oven; and an authentic product of Xàbia: Les Coques. All these ingredients will shake hands next weekend of April 20 and 21 at the Parc Montaner, where the Fira de les Coques de Xàbia will be held for the first time.

Born into XàbiaIdea forum entrepreneurship, I Fira de les Coques born with the intention of promoting javiense life style among foreigners and residents, making the cuisine of the town an important reference and trying to recover the old way of doing through movement "slow life".

The Fair will open on Saturday morning and throughout the weekend will feature numerous entities that have agreed to collaborate with the event: the Homemakers will demonstrate how cokes are cooked in the new oven to bake traditional bread that he has built next to riurau; the Center Excursionista prepare activities for the little ones; bolilleras Association will demonstrate their work and fifteen establishments offer Cokes at reasonable prices (€ 1,25) also will be voted among the attendees, who will choose the best coke.

As a preamble to the Fair, next week the Association of Restaurateurs of Xàbia will cookery courses in schools, whose work can be seen in a photo exhibition during the weekend.

Another collaborator is the Cirne Cultural Foundation, which will open the calendar of activities next Wednesday with the conference "La coca de la Marina and the true history of pizza" by Antoni Espinós. It will be at 18:30 p.m. at the Soler Blasco Museum and then there will be another talk by the gastronomic critic Pedro Mocholí, and the book Ànima Mediterránea will be presented, chosen as the best gastronomy book of the year.
