25 July 2020 - 17: 58

Civil Guard agents have located a man, 88 years old, who was missing from his home since yesterday at 18:00 in the afternoon in Xaló.

The voice of alarm was given by a friend, who came to her house and saw that she had not returned yet since the morning, when she went shopping.

This octogenarian, with reduced mobility and a certain degree of dependency, disappeared, leaving the static cycle he used, the shopping bags and the keys to the house at home.

The search then became very difficult because there was no clue as to where he had been able to go.

Since then, the Civil Guard has deployed a comprehensive device to locate it, in which agents from the Xaló Civil Guard, 10 patrols from the Calp Company, the Judicial Police, the Air Service helicopter and a people-tracking dog have participated. of the Cynological Service. Patrols from the Xaló Local Police, Civil Protection officers from the Marina Alta and several residents of the same town also joined.

After about 20 hours of incessant search, the Civil Guard has found this man, already after 14:00 p.m., on the Camino Martí de Xaló, just 800 meters from his home, among some vines that made it difficult to see for its location.

Despite the fact that it presented severe hydration (taking into account the high temperatures of this time), it was stable. He suffered from pain in his side, which is being evaluated if it could be a hip fracture.

Finally, he has been transferred to the regional hospital for evaluation.
