The Civil Guard has detained a 40-year-old passenger in the port of Dénia, who was carrying 40 kilos of hashish in the trunk of his vehicle.
In the early afternoon of yesterday, agents from the Fiscal Area of the Civil Guard of Dénia seized 40 kilos of hash pollen from a man who was about to board, with his vehicle, on the boat that covers the path from Dénia with destination Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands).
This seizure is the result of one of the many routine inspections that the Fiscal Service of the Civil Guard usually carries out on the passengers of the ferry. It was while checking the trunk of the car and lifting the mat, that the agents discovered a considerable amount of vacuum-packed rectangular packages, the interior of which contained hash pollen.
The man was immediately arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a drug trafficking crime and is scheduled to go to court today.
The drug, which was probably intended to be sold at retail, would have reached a value of more than 67.000 euros, in the illicit market.
