The Civil Guard celebrates the day of its patron with a mass and an offering to the fallen

The Civil Guard of Xàbia has celebrated the day of its patron, the Virgen del Pilar, with the traditional acts in the barracks facilities. It began with a Mass, concelebrated by the parish priests of Loreto and San Bartolomé, Fernando Maño and Salvador Torrens and the Vicar Carlos.

After the Eucharist, the delivery of decorations to the guards Albano Caballero and Carlos Salort took place at the main entrance to save the life of a three-year-old boy in a pool in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Eleazar Varón was also honored for helping a person in the port, and two distinctions were given for the 25 years of service to Eleazar Varón and Manuel Álvarez with the silver cross.

The act concluded with the parliament of the Lieutenant, Javier Soliveres, who said it was an open day and manifested the dedication of the civil guards, "we are dedicated to our service with all our soul, with discipline, loyalty and sacrifice, we are the institution most valued by citizens". Also, Soliveres highlighted the action of two guards, those who saved the lives of 2 adults and 2 children of 13 and 15 years of drowned in the floods of Sant Llorenç in Mallorca.

The lieutenant of the Civil Guard of Xàbia also mentioned the work carried out from this barracks, "We have removed from the streets 15 kilos of synthetic drugs, 4 kilos of cocaine, 2 marijuana plantations and rescued two people from inside a burning vehicle". Javier thanked them for their collaboration this summer with colleagues from the Gendarmerie of France and the Berlin police.

Soliveres transmitted to all the residents of Xàbia and Benitatxell that "The Civil Guard is a close body and is pleased that these two municipalities have the lowest crime rates in the province with the help of local police in both municipalities."

To Josep Femenía, former mayor of Benitatxell, the lieutenant had words of thanks, "I consider him a friend and I have not met a more sincere person. He has been attentive to the Civil Guard and during his term everything has been fulfilled. "

The act ended with congratulations to his decorated colleagues and ended with cheers for Spain, the King and the Civil Guard. Emphasize that in the act were the Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, the former mayor of Benitatxell, Josep Femenía and in the background, the new mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Miquel García.
