The Generalitat launches a digital glossary to clarify doubts about COVID-19

The Generalitat has launched a digital guide on the website infocoronavirus.gva.es to keep the public informed about the terminology and essential concepts related to the coronavirus. The COVID-19 glossary is made up of more than a hundred terms that contribute to, among many other aspects, understanding how the disease is transmitted, distinguishing the diversity of existing diagnostic tests, understanding the differences between isolation and quarantine or which ones are the clinical complications of COVID-19.

This 'what is what' of COVID-19 is born with "the objective of keeping the public informed", has assured the Regional Secretary for Prospective and Communication, Beatriz Gallardo Paúls, who has also added that the COVID-19 glossary "It will contribute to curb the 'infodemic' that arose from the coronavirus by spreading false or speculative information". In this sense, it should be noted that the content will be updated periodically on the web infocoronavirus.gva.es.

The digital glossary has been prepared with the selfless participation of several members of the group of experts for COVID-19 of the Generalitat Valenciana, made up of people from various scientific fields and the health administration who, since the beginning of the pandemic, They have met weekly or biweekly, by videoconference, with the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig.

Visual explanation

Likewise, the COVID-19 digital glossary includes a visual content explaining the contagion process and the protocols that are activated from the incubation period until the epidemiological discharge occurs. Also contact tracing in case the PCR test is positive and what is the protocol to follow and for how long from the time the risk exposure exists until the epidemiological discharge occurs. The graphics have been conceived for explanatory purposes and are available to be downloaded and disseminated through mobile devices.
