The Albi family has donated to Soler Blasco Museum from Xàbia a set of bases and capitals of Roman columns (dated between the XNUMXst and XNUMXnd centuries of Our Era). This archaeological material has been preserved by the family for around two centuries and now, after being cleaned, studied and inventoried, it will become part of the municipal collections displayed in the room so that they can be known by all interested parties.

The Albi family with Quico Moragues and Ximo Bolufer

As explained by the municipal archaeologist, Ximo Bolufer, there are three bases and two capitals in rough stone and Tuscan-Roman style, in good condition and with limescale indicating that originally were painted or coated. Everything points to originate from the site of Punta del Arenal, which hosted an important occupied for more than six hundred years settlement.

The councilman of Culture, Quico MoraguesHas joined the museum staff to collect the material and has thus been able to personally thank the donation to the three brothers Albi, descendants of the poet José Albi (1922-2010) and Doctor of Law and prestigious municipalist lawyer Fernando Albi (1886-1969 ).
