33.000 visitors are estimated to have been able to go through the exhibition "El Siglo de Balenciaga" that Xàbia has held this summer. So, the initiative closes with historical data on the public reached, that is, with the highest number achieved by an exhibition in the municipality since records have been kept.
According to the balance of Department of Culture, during the month of September the level of visits of the entire summer has been maintained, adding 9.462 registrations (3.882 people have passed through the Lambert Arts Center, another 3.372 through the Soler Blasco Museum and 2.208 for the Casa del Cable). This figure added to the more than 10.000 registered in July and the 13.000 in August make the total balance reach 33.000 visitors.
The councilman of Culture, Quico Moragues, has shown its satisfaction with this great reception, a support that encourages the Department of Culture to continue programming with ambition and seeking proposals of the highest level.
The mayor wanted to thank the curator of the exhibition Pedro Usabiaga and his collaborators, Lydia García and Carlos Milla, for the sensitivity and interest shown with the Xàbia project, for which they have obtained new providers that have allowed them to show collection pieces for the first time private.
They have also thanked all the people and entities that have been involved in the parallel activities of the Balenciaga Year in Xàbia, from the participants in the symposium on the designer that was held at the Parador, especially the neighbor Miguel Cardona, who was the driver of Balenciaga, the Atelier de Bataille Living or the merchants' association that has called a shop window contest inspired by the couturier to continue linking Xàbia with the master of fashion.
