The Provincial Council injects 1,8 million euros into the town councils of the province for the execution of energy efficiency projects

The Alicante Provincial Council will allocate 1,8 million euros this year for the execution of energy efficiency projects in 63 towns in the territory. The Environment Commission this week has given the go-ahead to the bases that must govern these aids that are part of the Provincial Plan for Energy Savings promoted by the institution.

The creation of recharging points for electric vehicles, the renovation of public lighting systems, the placement of photovoltaic panels for self-consumption or the carrying out of works to improve the thermal behavior of municipal buildings are some of the actions that will be carried out thanks to this ambitious investment package.

The deputy responsible for the area, Miguel Ángel Sánchez, who recalled the Provincial Council's commitment to sustainability and protection of the environment, explained that "These subsidies allow us to carry out actions aimed at optimizing the electricity consumption of our municipalities and reducing their CO² emissions into the atmosphere, with a significant reduction in the carbon footprint in the province."

The approved call is intended for the 63 municipalities that last year benefited from the institution's aid for the drafting of these projects. Among them, Aspe, Crevillent, Hondón de los Frailes, Monforte del Cid, Monóvar, Salinas and Santa Pola in the Vinalopó area, and Agres, Alcoi, Alfafara, Banyeres de Mariola, Castalla, Benifallim, Benilloba, Benillup, Benimassot, Fageca , Gaianes, L'Orxa, Onil and Tibi in the regions of L'Alcoià and El Comtat.

A grants, ranging between 25.000 and 60.000 eurosThey may also choose Beniarbeig, Benimeli, Benissa, Calp, Castell de Castells, Dénia, El Ràfol d'Almúnia, Gata de Gorgos, L'Atzúbia, La Vall d'Alcalà, Pego, Sagra, Sanet y Negrals, Senija, Teulada, Vall de Gallinera, Xàbia and the ELM Llosa de Camacho in the Marina Alta and Benidorm, Benifato, Bolulla, Confrides, El Castell de Guadalest, Finestrat, L'Alfàs del Pi, Relleu and Tàrbena in the Marina Baixa.

The rest of the towns with which the Provincial Council will collaborate are Albatera, Bigastro, Callosa de Segura, Catral, Cox, Daya Vieja, Dolores, Jacarilla, Pilar de la Horadada, Rafal and San Fulgencio in the Vega Baja and El Campello, Ibi, Mutxamel and Xixona in L'Alacantí.

Improvement of stands and forest land

The Environment Commission has also given the green light to the aid plan for carrying out works to improve municipal forest masses and lands of scenic and environmental interest, endowed with 200.000 euros.

All city councils and local entities of the province that have mountains or spaces of these characteristics of more than four hectares of surface will be able to benefit from this call that will be published soon in the BOP.

The institution will execute and subsidize 100% of these projects that include forestry treatments for invigoration and improvement in dense and fossilized pine forests, micro-hydrological correction actions, reforestation, recovery of abandoned agricultural terraces to be used for plantings for fauna or landscape restoration. , vegetal and hydrological of degraded lands.
