For the second year, the health pandemic prevents celebrating the popular festivals that Xàbia dedicates to Jesús Nazareno. However, the Brotherhood and the parish have done everything possible to recover at least its liturgical aspect and, in addition to organizing the download of the image so that it is present these weeks in the parish of San Bartolomé, now they propose a program of events reduced to religious celebrations within the temple and those of a more social nature.
There will be an extraordinary day of blood donation, on Wednesday April 21 from 17:XNUMX p.m. at the Health Center, collections for the Cáritas and Red Cross food banks and gifts for the users of the Hermanos Cholbi Day and Asylum Center. Several eucharist, among them the solemn noon of May 3, and a offering of flowers scheduled in a staggered manner on the afternoon of Sunday May 2 inside the church.
El Javea Town Hall has wanted to join this simple program in a symbolic way and therefore will install the two flower crosses with which he honors the Nazareno during these days on the façade of the Town Hall and on Jesús Nazareno street.
The Brotherhood also encourages neighbors to, as was done spontaneously last year, to recover a beautiful tradition linked to these festivities and to make their own crosses to decorate their portals or balconies and to ensure that the party is present in the streets somehow.
