The good will of some neighbors leaves the plots of Xàbia clean

Xàbia net between tots. This is the motto that a group of residents of Xàbia has set in motion with their initiative to clean up the dirty areas due to citizens' lack of citizenship.

Everything started a week ago, when a group of neighbors, faced with the bad image and dirt that can be seen in several plots of the town, decided to join and leave their homes to clean themselves.

Dozens of garbage bags full of plastic, packaging and papers are the reward of this work. Garbage discarded by citizens anywhere. "Mattresses, televisions, furniture, tires, debris, garden debris and endless elements was what we found in the cleaning of the first plot, in addition to general food waste, bottles, etc."said one of the volunteers.

And, since this initiative began last 9 in August, there have already been two private plots, which are used as parking, cleaned. "It hardly took us more than an hour to upgrade the two zones. A job, which with citizen collaboration and good behavior in waste disposal, would not be necessary", said one of the neighbors.

But the good will of this small neighborhood group to take care of the environment in which they live is bearing fruit, and new neighbors have joined the cleaning cart. Through the group on Facebook, Xàbia net between tots, the volunteers who have taken this initiative announce where they will act every week in case some citizen wants to join, since "Union make force"They say.

After the cleaning of the plot in front of the IES Antoni Llidó and the parcel of the area of ​​Thiviers, they have scheduled for this Thursday to resume the cleaning in another plot, "Our intention is to reach every corner of Xàbia little by little and whoever wants to join only has to bring some gloves".
