Eduard Mira, sociologist, doctor of Geography and History, writer and member of the Valencian Academy of Language has donated to the Xàbia Municipal Library around 8.000 volumes of Valencian cultural themes, sociology and urbanism.
El Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, highlighted the figure of Mira, which represents one of the essential landmarks of Valencian culture. Today, Eduard Mira, from his Customs house, still builds a narrative work, suggestive and full of strength. «This donation of almost 8.000 volumes has an extraordinary value and will be very useful for the residents of Xàbia», says the first mayor xabiero.
Mira has thanked the presence of municipal representatives and friends and has indicated that some of the books he has donated are written in his Customs house. Your library can be cataloged as an author, it is basic for a doctoral thesis or for a researcher, «Is a library loaded with history. I have lived several years in Belgium and Flanders, so my library is mixed with texts in Valencian, Spanish, English, French, German or Italian and my contribution to the municipal library is due to a debt I had with Xàbia ».
And is that Eduard inherited from his father the house of Xàbia, «The money he had and the one that didn't have was spent on it», remember this resident. As a curious fact, Mira has said that the first book he bought was in the 60 years and the first one he published was in 1981.
