The Public Library of Xàbia has received a valuable donation from the family of the poet José Albi, made up of 17 publications by the prestigious author. It was Fernando Albi, son of the writer, who made this donation in which the number 23 of the magazine “Verbo” (published in 1952) stands out (published in XNUMX) of which José Albi was director and in which he signs a monograph together with Joan Fuster about surrealism.

As detailed from the Library, there is also his doctoral thesis, carried out on the Valencian painter Joan de Joanes and his artistic circle, published in 1979.

In addition, there are books of poems that go from the years 1960 to 1990, as well as from the year 2000 to 2008. The volumes delivered are in addition to those that already appear by the author in the local collection of the Library and will serve to disseminate the poet's work and make it known.

José Albi Fita was born in Valencia in 1922, although he has always been closely linked to Xàbia, where he died in 2010. He is considered one of the best postwar poets and has been awarded the Valencian Generalitat Prize for Letters in 2002 He also received the Lluis Guarner award from the Ministry of Culture in 1999.
