The blue flag flies one more year in the Moraig cove of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell

11 June 2020 - 13: 04

The blue flag is already flying in the Moraig cove of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Despite the fact that it is still closed to the public due to the adaptation works that Costas is carrying out after the storm Gloria, since Tuesday June 9, the beach has this banner that certifies the quality of the waters, the natural environment and its services.

The Moraig obtained the blue flag for the first time in 2013. Now, with the performance of the Alicante Provincial Coastal Service, the objective is to further improve quality standards that are already very high. It is planned to improve the state of the cove by restructuring and naturalizing the environment with a new access and some changes that will guarantee a harmony between the beach and the natural environment.

Another priority on this beach has always been to ensure the safety of bathers. The life-saving and rescue device is provided by SVS. The Moraig cove was a pioneer in having a nursing service. They are permanently coordinated with the Local Police and Civil Protection.

In addition, this summer the security measures will be further strengthened in the new scenario due to the coronavirus. At the moment, the exact date for the reopening is unknown, but it is expected for the month of July. With the first works of Costas, safe access to the beach will be guaranteed for this summer, and after the season, work will resume to complete the adaptation and naturalization project.
