The '100st Solidarity Swimming Journey' is about to cover XNUMX% of the places

November 28 from 2023 - 13: 15

On December 9, the Grava beach of Xàbia will be the epicenter of the I solidarity swim crossing of the town, with the proceeds, in this first edition, going to the Spanish Association against Cancer. An initiative promoted by Soluciones Inmobiliaria and EGM Ingenieros and in which Xàbia Esports collaborates.

The test will have two routes, a distance of 10.000 meters, the route being Grava beach - Cala Blanca and return. And the other distance of 3.250 meters that will run from Playa de la Grava to the vicinity of the Playa del Arenal and return. The first distance to start will be the 10k, at 9:00 a.m., while the 3.250-meter route will start at 09:30 a.m.

Registration is open through cronosport being a different price depending on the distance and the registration period. Those interested in participating may do so online until December 8 or until the 200 participation limit is filled.

These days there are already 170 swimmers registered, from different cities in Spain, in this solidarity event that aims to consolidate itself year after year in order to collaborate in each edition with a different association.

José Ramón García, organizer of this solidarity swimming trip titled Cabo de la Nao, has highlighted that if there are places available, you can register on the same day of the test, although it should be noted that this first edition has been a great success.

García has pointed out about the course of the test that there will be refreshment stations at 3 and 7 kilometers. Furthermore, the organizer has detailed that although the dates seem bad because it is winter, it is expected that on those days the water temperature will be around 16º. In this way, and as indicated in the regulations, neoprene swimsuits will be used except for those who can swim at low temperatures.

"The fact that it is held in December is because there is greater participation since there are no other open sea comxicotetions," said García.

In the presentation of the journey, in which the organizers, the president of the Local Cancer Association and the Sports Councilor, Toni Molina, participated, the involvement of companies, swimmers and collaborators was appreciated for making this test a reality. In addition, it should be noted that there will be 20 boats that supported the smooth running of the test from the water.

People who wish to collaborate by contributing their grain of sand to the AECC's contribution but do not want to swim may do so by donating the Number 0 on the same registration website from 10 euros.

Likewise, the journey will be comxicotetive, with trophies awarded to the best in each of the categories. There will also be a draw for different prizes among all participants (swimmers and number 0).

At the press conference, the president of the local assembly, Carmen Hernández, thanked that the swimming trip has its solidarity aspect and especially that the organizers "have decided to count on us."

For his part, the Sports Councilor, Toni Molina, has shown the support of the Town hall to this sporting event organized by José Ramón García and a group of businessmen from Xàbia and the region. Molina stressed that "every stroke and effort" of the participants "contributes to improving the lives of those affected by cancer", with the funds contributed to the local assembly. And "they mark a firm step towards building a healthier and more hopeful future," he concluded.
