La III Feminist Day of Xàbia, organized by the Xàbia Oberta Feminist Assembly will take place on October 26 in the municipality, in the historic center and with a clear objective: the appropriation of space by women. On this occasion, the day will take place in several scenarios where all activities will be carried out.
The Xàbia Oberta Feminist Assembly takes over Xàbia Sense Murs, a group that started this event three years ago when young people from Xàbia began to carry out a mobilization to put an end to machismo seeking an answer between the neighbors of the municipality. From this idea was born the day to talk, debate and build. Thus began the I Feminist Journey and that he taught all the people that feminism was possible and could reach many spaces.
From the hand of this group, an immensity of initiatives originated in all the different fields of social resistance and political activism were born.
During this Feminist Day, all those women and all those struggles invisible within feminism will be commemorated. It will remind all those people who have been forgotten and without whom, nothing that is done today could have been possible. Therefore, this day will open with the mythical phrase of feminist activist Audre Lorde "The tools of the master will not destroy the house of the master."
