The Association of Retirees and Pensioners of the Sea of Xàbia celebrated its 20 anniversary with a meal in the Carrasco salons where 250 associates attended. In the act were present the Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi, the councilor of Servicios Sociales, Pepa Gisbert and the parish priest Fernando Mañó.
In this celebration, the president of the association, Guillermo Bas, delivered a plaque to the associates that this year are octogenarians. A total of 25 people were honored: Josefa Mengual, Félix Palacios, Mario Agostinelli, Francisca Espasa, Ana Cruañes, Pilar Peral, Vicente Santacreu, Presentation González, Teresa Moratinos, Francisco Masó, Teresa Sal, Miguel García, Tomás Cardona, Antonio Sesé, Guillermo Andrés, Josefa Buigues, Piedad Rico, Mari Carmen Patiño, Miguel Buigues, Juan Molina, Roy Thomas, Antonio Guerrero, Vicente Solís, María Sahuquillo and Adolf Marx.
In turn, the Town hall delivered a plaque to the Association for the 20th anniversary. The mayor, in his speech, thanked and congratulated the retirees for their 20th anniversary and for the work they do in favor of the integration and quality of life of the elderly in Xàbia, "It is admirable".
Chulvi added that "the associations, like the parties or any event we do together, make people". The mayor also commented on the actions that have taken place in the Customs neighborhood, "There have been very important improvement actions to make them more comfortable, we have opened a new free parking lot last summer, the avenue of Lepanto and Jaume I has been renovated and we are about to carry out the reform of the Triana bridge, with these performances and the good work of the people of the port, is getting more and more attractive neighborhood ".
The party ended with dancing by Los Bradmis.
