Juan Ortolà (CpJ): "We want the Tapies sector to develop immediately to give continuity to the Freginal and turn it into a more attractive neighborhood"

May 22 from 2019 - 10: 24

Citizens for Jávea held their first meeting last night at the Freginal. The event began with the speech of Vicente Soler, member of the Citizens for Jávea list and president of the Neighborhood Association of Freginal, who was very strong in stating that "The Freginal needs a major reform, a neat neighborhood, with new sidewalks, a well-kept park and a neighborhood police to help us solve problems that is not what we have had these last four years."

Then it was the turn of Esther Tormos, member of the candidacy of CpJ and neighbor of the neighborhood, who spoke of the proposals in terms of services, cleaning and education of the electoral program of Ciudadanos por Jávea, "All of them totally viable, real and necessary to change Jávea", explained Tormos when mentioning the proposals of CpJ to improve the image of the three urban centers, "the creation of a Comprehensive Vocational Training Center, a toy library and a good residence for the elderly, as well as the need to keep our neighborhoods clean and safe."

The event was closed by Juan Ortolà, candidate for the Mayor of Xàbia, who wanted to explain to the residents of the neighborhood the importance of "The Tapies sector will be developed immediately, and not as the new General Plan contemplates in 11 or 15 years, to give continuity to the Freginal with new buildings where residential and commercial use are mixed". And he added, "The Freginal has to be a more attractive neighborhood to live and invest because it is the growth of Xàbia that will allow building housing for the families of the town and for the young people on rent and not as the current situation of the neighborhood. it does not offer the possibility of growth ".

General plan

In addition, Ortolà wanted to emphasize commenting on the recently approved General Plan since "If we do not fix it, it will complicate the future and the quality of life in our town". As he explained, "What the socialist government has done is create larger execution units, veto the local promoters and open up the big promoters from outside and that's what they call small urbanism". He added that "With the approval of this Plan, in the Tapies sector, everything is focused on private homes for second homes because that model of housing can hardly be for young people and working people of the town."

Second Mountain

Ortolà was very forceful in explaining that "We can not allow the town planning of Xàbia to direct it from the outside nor can we make vignettes about a before and after in a humorous way because it is selling an unreal situation looking for its own benefit and demonstrating that little concern for the image of Xàbia". And he wanted to add: "Why do not they make a vignette of what happened on the second Montañar plot? That plot to which the town planning councilor gave her leave three days after a technician told her that it could not be given. If it had not been for the denunciation of some citizens, now it would be built. "

Finally Juan Ortolà asked the attendees to reflect on the importance of a real change to fix the urban model of Xàbia that allows the growth of the Freginal and the obtaining of housing for the families of Jávea and for the young people on rent.

The meetings of Citizens for Jávea continue on Wednesday at the 20: 30h in La Placeta del Convent, tomorrow Thursday 23 in May in the Port and Friday 24 in May with the end of the campaign in Thiviers.
