José Ramón García exceeds the average number of lengths completed for his 2023 charity challenge

02 June 2023 - 11: 02

20.560 lengths or 514 kilometers. This is the amount of swimming distance that José Ramón García has completed since the beginning of 2023. Some data that exceed the expected average of the solidarity challenge proposed by this resident of Xàbia.

García had the goal of doing about 84 km per month, but he is "launched", he told this medium, since the average of these five months has been 100 km per month. Some very good results that push us to continue and obtain funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity in Glasgow, the center that cared for Helen Smithson, daughter of Collins, a resident of Xàbia and partner in his solidarity challenges, who died in 2022 due to the cancer.

The solidarity swimmer from Xàbia has been very happy with these results, "although the average to achieve the annual challenge was lower, I prefer to go above and if I manage to finish the challenge before the end of the year, even better".

Just two days ago, García completed session 120, in which he swam a total of 240 lengths (6km), thus closing the month of May. "I have achieved, in this month of May, the greatest number of lengths of the five months since 2023, doing 123km, that is, 4.920 lengths in May (each length being 25m)".

"I am 486 kilometers away, that is, 19.440 lengths, from achieving the solidarity challenge and, in turn, the tribute to Helen", stated José Ramón García.

For people who wish to contribute their grain of sand, they can do so through this website, which currently has 37% of the proposed support, just over 1.800 pounds raised.
