The present and the future of the Arenal neighborhood focused the meeting of the PSOE of Xàbia candidacy in the Civic Punt with many residents of the neighborhood.

Thus, for example, to solve flood problems, an anti-flood park has been projected in the Saladar, as already exists in other cities, which will drain into the Séquia de la Nória. The park will have sports and leisure facilities with the unique feature of being specially designed to collect rainwater from the entire area.
This area will have the capacity to withstand up to 100.000m3 of water and is the solution for recurrent flooding in this area when it rains heavily. In addition, to prevent the liquid from stagnating, a pumping system capable of completely emptying it in just 36 hours will be installed.
Jávea Park
Likewise, the mayor presented the remodeling project for the Jávea Park park to provide it with improved facilities and new services, such as a basketball court, chess area, ping-pong tables or wooded and rest area as well as children's games.
The project has a budget of 463.000 euros and an execution period of two months and a subsidy will be requested for its realization.
Museum of the Mediterranean
José ChulviFor his part, he presented another of the infrastructures called to substantially improve the offer of Xàbia and, especially, Arenal. “We are going to build, he pointed out, a Museu del Mediterrani next to the Canal de la Fontana (the current Montgorock plot) that will house our collection of underwater archaeology, one of the most important in the Mediterranean. In addition to the amphoras, anchors and other vestiges, we will be able to show the 350 gold coins from Roman times that we have found and which are a unique set of great value”, stated the mayor.
This museum is completed with an open square around it. In addition, the Museu del Mediterrani will complete Avenida Augusta, which is already on the opposite side, less than 15 minutes away on foot, with the Miguel Buigues Pavilion and the Municipal Pool.

Both facilities, as well as the entire coastal façade, will find easier communication once another of the projects that José Chulvi's team presented and which are in a very advanced phase is completed: the opening of Génova street towards Duanes at the height of l'Avinguda dels Furs and towards the Arenal at the height of the Parador. This intervention was the necessary previous step to finally undertake the coastal path that joins the Joaquín Sorolla and the Tenista promenades David Ferrer.
