'Indians and Cowboys' will star in the Living Chess of Jávea 2015

The esplanade of the Port of Xàbia will host on Saturday 25 of July, at 22.30 hours, the "XIX Chess in Jávea", an event organized since 1996 by the Mare de Déu de Loreto Festival Commission with the collaboration of the Town hall.

The work will be represented "One of Cowboys and Indians: Native Americans", written by Mª Rosario Henarejos, member of the organizing committee. As usual from the first edition, there will be a prominent guest. The direction will be borne by Rafael Andarias, Director of the Living Chess.

Departure as a basis for representation will be Garry Kasparov- Boris Gelfand, Linares Tournament, 1991.

The Chess in Xàbia creator is a group of a stage, singular and separate part, which is a new understanding of this century variety chess theater. It can be defined as "a story told by a play, performed by school history, which is based on a chess game".

Xàbia Living Chess

Actually, the viewer attends more like a play than to contemplate the development of a game, so there is no need to know to play chess to understand and enjoy the performance. This initiative takes elements of classical theater and living chess, emerging a new theatrical form called "theatrical living chess".

The group is composed of twenty members, being over forty schoolchildren, between 6 and 14 years, participating as extras each year. Its duration is approximately sixty minutes is carried out in the presence of a narrator and two players who read the moves of the game. These players are an outstanding school of Javea Chess Club, and an honored guest who is a personality of relief.

Special guests

As guests of honor has had personalities of the world of sport, science and culture. These could highlight: the players Juan Carlos Ferrero and David Ferrer (Favorite Son Xàbia); journalist Matías Prats; judoka Isabel Fernández; the sailing team javiense FERMAX; the Prince of Asturias awards astronaut Pedro Duque (Adoptive Son of Xàbia), paleoanthropologist (co-director of Atapuerca) Juan Luis Arsuaga, and scientific Santiago Grisolia (Pte the Consell Valencià de Cultura.); the writer Javier Reverte; Álvaro de Luna and actor.

Hqy noted that JK Rowling granted in 2006 express authorization for theatrical adaptation to living chess of his first book of the Harry Potter saga. In addition, other actions in Thiviers (France), Vitoria and Linares (this under the XXV anniversary of the prestigious Linares tournament that featured the attendance of former world champion V. Anand Indian) were performed.
