The IES Antoni Llidó de Xàbia is the first institute that the town had. Both its name and its start-up have a great history. Currently, the center, which is bilingual, teaches Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and Baccalaureate studies to more than 500 students from this town and some students from neighboring towns.

History

El Institute of Xàbia, the name by which this center was known since it opened its doors in 1975, has undergone various changes. With its creation, more facilities were provided to the citizens of the locality and nearby municipalities; there was the opportunity to pursue non-compulsory studies without having to travel to large cities. The Institute of Xàbia it became one of the higher education centers in the region.

And almost a quarter of a century has come since its first class, and with several changes in the educational model, the School Council decides to give a more personal name to the center. On June 29, 1998, the Institut de Xàbia was renamed IES Antoni Llidó in order to remember the priest xabienc, a religious model and a committed teacher, who disappeared in Chile after General Pinochet's coup.

In 2002, the institute turned 25 years old and for this reason a series of events were scheduled for the celebration: meetings, conferences, round tables and the publication of a book that gave an account of the most relevant events that had occurred in recent years. years.
