Hospital de Dénia: «the curve of those infected by coronavirus has a slow growth in the region»

27 March 2020 - 09: 36

The manager of the Dénia Health Department, Luis Carretero, and the healthcare director, Pedro Clemente, telematically attended to the media to provide answers to the situation that the Marina Alta region is experiencing with the coronavirus.

The leaders of the regional hospital center explained the restructuring that the Hospital has undergone, as well as the health centers, in terms of activities, staff, consultations and facilities in order to curb the number of infected and the virus to spread.

Carretero and Clemente pointed out that four different scenarios were proposed at the Hospital from the beginning of this health crisis "and we are still in the first. We have capacity, available space and in the ICU. We reserved a hospitalization plant for the infected. The Hospital is divided into two to differentiate care by some cases or others (different hospitalization than that of the coronavirus) ".

The manager and the health care director of the Dénia Health Department stated that, in his opinion, "The increase in the curve in the region is slow and the goal of not having a fast peak is being achieved, although epidemiology models give days of growth. The curve has flattened growth"This means that compliance with the confinement of citizens is paying off. Likewise, the health officials affirmed that they cannot give concrete data," but every day there are several hospital discharges taking place. "

Regarding the number of infected toilets, in which it was indicated a few days ago, that it amounted to 25 in the Hospital of Marina Salud, Carretero and Clemente affirmed that it is because in the center they are more strict and they are doing more tests on everything your personal. Regarding the protection material, those responsible for the Hospital maintain that they have enough and it is not the main concern at the moment.

  1. Ana says:

My partner works in the hospital and has to wear his diving goggles to work. That's a lie! They have no equipment.

It is shameful that they do not communicate properly, they have to say it and ask for equipment to be able to work in conditions and that they do not get infected since they are the most exposed.

  2. Carlos says:

If there are 25 infected toilets, how many infected are there not?

Why are there no data from the different towns?
All non-health workers or people who are in their homes with symptoms and without symptoms are being tested to make them a preventive isolation since many are going to lock which offices, works, gardening and supermarkets to work without protection.

This is irresponsible because if we do not stop they will not have a peak but a tsunami since they will join the sick they bring from Madrid or Valencia.
