Hospital HLA San Carlos de Dénia has recently renovated the center's surgery unit with a clear objective: to transform HLA San Carlos into a high-resolution surgical hospital, that is, one that can solve quickly, effectively and with criteria of excellence, any pathology that requires a surgical approach. To this end, under the coordination and direction of Dr. Miguel Ángel Escartí, bariatric surgeon and director of the Intraobess Unit, specialized units will be created in highly complex interventions for specific pathologies such as obesity, thyroid, breast or colon cancer.
The hospital will also enhance the surgical emergency area with a professional team on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This new unit will support the surgical activity of the hospital's internal medicine area and other specialties.
To promote this new objective, the center's management has set up a new critical care and post-operative resuscitation area under the care of an experienced team of anesthetists and intensivists.
The focus of the new medical direction, led by Dr. Antonio Torres, is to offer surgical solutions to small and large problems that require surgery, through renovated facilities equipped with the latest technology and with a team of professionals with great experience, who will take care of all the general surgical activity and the digestive system, whether it is major or outpatient surgery, as well as cases of peripheral venous vascular surgery, minor dermatological surgeries and cases of high complexity in surgery of obesity.
The professionals of this team will also offer surgical support to the area of internal medicine and to the rest of specialties, as well as to the emergencies for patients over 5 years of age on a 24-hour basis.
These improvements are part of the renovation process of the HLA San Carlos de Dénia Hospital. The hospital has recently renovated the areas of emergencies, consultations and hospitalization, which positions it as a private hospital of reference in the Marina Alta region.
In this sense, specialties such as Gynecology, Pediatrics and Plastic Surgery, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Medicine are strategic priorities of the management to promote the future of the hospital.
