One of the entrepreneurs who can catalog of model is undoubtedly Marcos Gisbert, manager Gunitec. Marcos Gisbert began working in its infancy in the Tosalet in 1973 when the oil crisis began and from there slowly grew until the present where Gunitec has won several awards for its superb and innovative pools.
How did the idea start with Gunitec?
When I returned from military service I started working in the warehouse building of a local company, AguatécnicaAnd then, at the end of 1976, with three friends, Francisco Torres, Guillermo Pepe Pastor Buigues and we created a pool construction company.
How were those early days?
At first there were few, and as early 1979 comes a good year. We built around 100 year. Spain World Cup after a year of madness came with the arrival of Dutch tourists. We started this journey by opening an office near the Playa del Arenal. In 1992, with the crisis that was short but stronger than we've been through, it was a year of total unemployment, and started to leave Xàbia pools within Spain.
Does the 92 year marked a before and after in the company Gunitec?
The truth is that this year was very good, and thanks to the construction of an infinity pool at the Cuesta de San Antonio de Xàbia got the first prize of Spain at the Feria de Barcelona and beyond continue collecting awards to the best pool national. From this year we see that the customer wants a more sophisticated pool, so we have our own decorator, and move away from the kind of basic pools.
In addition to the innovative pool that gives you the prize, you remember another anecdote?
Yeah, I remember with nostalgia, the construction of a swimming pool pharmacist municipality of Cebreros (Avila), was a close friend of Adolfo Suárez and had his home in front of the late Prime Minister. I was so excited to make the pool a friend of the president being councilman of the CDS. From there, and being one of the first jobs outside Xàbia no longer leave the domestic market because tourism has ups and downs and the interior was more stable.
Now you have new facilities, what you offer the customer besides the construction?
With the opening of the new store in the year 2000, sell the product to the customer directly, without intermediaries. This way up the benefits. Now it's like we are better, there are fewer customers, with more money and wanting to do different things.
Xàbia tennis player, David Ferrer, is your image ...
Yes, the image that gives David Ferrer to the company is essential. David's father, James, played football, and when I set up the company was our accountant until last year, which was when he retired. Jaime Ferrer was a person who was concerned about the company. Regarding David, we are extremely grateful and David Ferrer is that you can not ask for anything because he comes forward.
¿Gunitec passed to the second generation?
For some years now, my sons, Marcos, Mari Cruz and Lucas, entered the business. The first function was to take them to the United States so they could see into the pools as the company that builds in the world, namely 3.500 year. We are not the company that makes the cheapest pool, but we take the best materials available and perhaps the best possible price.
Do you work more locally or abroad?
We work a lot in other countries, in fact 50% of the turnover of Gunitec is made out of Xàbia. In the south of France they have built several pools as there have no comxicotetion. In neighboring costs twice as much to build a pool and the project now it is that we go to the Caribbean to build a pool for our client. We are fortunate that, for now, we have not missed work.
The awards obtained are a great recognition of the work done ...
We are very proud of the numbers achieved awards as the best pool in Spain. Today, we are fighting at the Fair of Lyon in order to win the prize for the best European pool. A pool that has been built with materials from the island of Bali, volcanic stone. In November, the verdict will be known, and become one of the three finalists are proud to Gunitec.

Fantastic Company and very friendly & excellent quality workforce.
