Many athletes from the Club Atletisme Llebeig de Xàbia were present at the different sports events that took place this past weekend in the Valencian Community. Several of them achieved excellent results, highlighting the first place of Nasio Cardona in the Pego Trail, first test of the CTM (Circuit Trail Marina) 2021-22.
Cardona was placed in the first box of the podium when crossing the finish line, after completing the 13km, with a time of 01:08:38. Along with Nasio, three more athletes from Llebeig took this test: Juan José Vallés, who finished 8th overall, Cristian Monzó, 13th overall and Miriam Moritz who was 3rd in the sender event.
In the Pego Trail test with a distance of 19Km, the following participated: Lisa Childs, who was 11th in her category, Joan Fullana 17th in her category and Alex Gayá, 34th in her category.
Valencia Half Marathon
In the 30th Valencia Trinidad Alfonso EDP 2021 Half Marathon, some of the xabieros athletes participated, among the 12.000 runners, who obtained the following results after completing the 21 km of the test:
- Carlos Cordero Borja: 1:40:06
- Jose Jaime Ortiz Selles: 1:46:49
- Manuel Alvarez Lopez: 1:54:52
- Miguel Valles Sendin: 2:13:94
Top of the Rock Ultra Trail
The athletes of Xàbia, Isaac Díaz and Javi Fernández, met in Top of the Rock Ultra Trail disputed in the province of Castellón. The test, of 120km with 4930 of positive elevation gain, was divided into 3 stages of 45km + 36km + 39km, starting in Castellón and finishing in Morella.
The athletes of Xàbia came first in male pairs and in 5th and 6th position of the absolute classification of the 3 stages in ultra distance. The total time to travel the 120 km was 13 hours 23 minutes.
Ibiza Half Triathlon
In the Ibiza Half Triathlon he represented Xàbia, José Ortuño. The athlete completed 2 km of swimming, 85 km of cycling and 21 km of running in a time of 5:13:57. Ortuño finished in the 25th position of the Men's Open.
Cross Castellón and U16 National Championship
On Saturday, the young athletes of the Llebeig Athletics Club, Laura Crespo and Ainara Sapena, were summoned by Dianium as affiliate athletes to go to Final B of the Spanish Under 16 Club Championship, where they could enjoy the experience of running in a national comxicotetion.
On the other hand, on Sunday, the cross-country season started at the Cross Ciutat de Castellón. A very hard and high level cross course, in which the athlete, María Devesa got third place in the U-14 category.
