Great success of representation and public in the XXI Living Chess of Xàbia

A large part of the stands of the Sports Pavilion Miguel Buigues de Xàbia were filled with public to welcome the XXI edition of Living Chess. With a great staging that counted with the participation of more of 200 people and with the live music of Orquesta Sinfónica of the Musical Artistic Center of Xàbia under the baton of Juan Bou, the Colla Xirimitab's, The percussion group It tom'n'gó And the dance in charge of the School of Dance of Salomé Rodríguez.

The representation that took place last Saturday night, before the eyes of a thousand people, was dedicated to the Syrian refugees. A work titled The Viatge més dur del Mon Which is based on the story of a family of Syrian refugees from the city of Palmira who have to leave their country by war and after a long journey through North Africa cross the strait in a boat, reaching their golden dream of To get to Spain.

The story was written by teachers Isabel Henarejos and Carmina Masó together with the fifth graders of Vicente Tena school who starred in the game of Living Chess.

This twenty-first edition paid homage to Xabiero Edu Monfort, who died a few months ago because of a traffic accident. Monfort had been part of this event in several editions as part of the board, in addition he was part of the Festival Committee of the Loreto, collective that organizes this event.
