It was a wonderful weekend for the people of Xàbia. Rafa Andarias was proclaimed champion of Spain of Vela, David Ferrer gave the decisive point in the Davis Cup to Spain and Gema Soliveres, our protagonist, of 17 years, the captain of the Valencian sub 18, was proclaimed champion of Spain of football of regional selections.

Gema, a nice weekend?

It was a very nice weekend, when we finished the championship I could be with my parents that for me it was a plus that they were in Mallorca and they gave me the news of the triumphs of David Ferrer and Rafa Andarias.

How have you experienced the games in Mallorca and what was your feeling when you raised the champion cup?

It is the first glass that I raise and I hope it is not the last one. It was my last year with the national team and it was very nice, and I received many congratulations from the people of Xàbia.

What are your chances of playing in Valencia CF's División de Honor?

I hope I can play with the first team of Valencia, it depends on the coach, I will continue working to get this opportunity. Of course I would like to play next year in the Honor Division.

As a family of soccer players, your father played in the Mestalla, Pau, your brother is the captain of the CD JáveaHow do you remember your beginnings in football?

I started playing tennis when I was a little girl, when the peña La Marina was created I started kicking the ball, I liked it, and evidently it was influenced by the fact that I went to see my brother. In the end I signed up to play football.

Currently, women's football does not have the male's hook, what can happen in the future, the arrival of Iberdrola can make a leap in quality?

With the arrival of Iberdrola, women's football has taken a leap in quality although it will never be like men's, but the sponsorship of the electric company has given us a plus of quality. The fact of watching women's football on television is a big step.

Sandra Castelló is your reference

You are not the pioneer in Xàbia of women's football, Sandra Castelló has been who has made known Xàbia through football, have you noticed her?

The truth is that I have focused on her a lot, especially when I played in Levante, now with Huelva I see less but she is a player who plays in the same demarcation, midfielder, and I have noticed her way of playing.

Is it an effort to go to Valencia every day because you are still studying in Xàbia?

It is a great effort for both me and my parents since every day I train in Valencia and when I finish in high school one of them takes me to Paterna to train and the same match days. I am currently studying 2º of bachelor in the IES Antoni Llidó, so it is my last year of studies in Xàbia.

How did you feel when you scored for Valencia CF and when they told you that you were in the Valencian Community?

As a child I was a follower of Valencia CF, my parents instilled it in me and when I did the tests and they took me, it was an immense joy for me. As for the selection, I already knew the coach because I had him in the sub 16 and had placed a lot of confidence and when I received the first call I was very happy.

Currently you can not live exclusively in women's football

Can we live with women's football in Spain?

Some compañeras can now live exclusively in sport in Spain, but we can count on the fingers of our hands.

How far do you plan to go?

I would like to compete at the club level and be at the top to play the Champions League or win the Queen's Cup, and at the national level play with the absolute Spanish team.

Your position is that of a midfielder, are you a goalscorer or do you like to give goal assists?

I'm more of an assistant than a goal scorer, my best specialty is the touch of the ball and whenever I have had occasion I have been 15 minutes practicing the free kicks.

What do you study and how are you doing?

As I said before, I study at Llidó and I study well, I hope to pass the course this summer. My project is between two careers to enter the University, Journalism or Sports Sciences.

This year you are fifth of them Fogueres, can you enjoy the holidays or football will prevent it?

Last year at that time I had a tournament in France and I could not enjoy the parties of Fogueres, this year ends the June 4 and luckily I can have fun at parties as a girl.

would you like the town hall recognize your work for being champion of Spain under 18 soccer?

That is not my thing, although I would be very excited.
